thimblemation (thimble•mation)n. : A story told without dialogue using themes and symbols to get the point across.

theme + symbol=thimble

mation=animation

I would love to say this word has latin roots and goes back centuries, but the truth is, I just made it up.
The animations on this site use no dialogue to convey the story. This was inspired by what web designer extrordinaire, Hillman Curtis calls a Global Visual Language (GVL) .

The web is the first true global medium. Every web page online is available to any internet-connected computer, anywhere in the world...
...As designers in this new medium we should be concerned with communicating beyond national boundaries and visualizing a global visual language, or GVL.

You should also notice themes and symbols recurrent throughout all the animations. Hence the name.

I have found serious study of the scriptures brings up humorous questions. In these instances I have tried to incorporate them into the stories. I hope they do not detract from the emphasis of the message.

On a final note a thimble is often thought of as a small container. These stories are all short in length and relatively small in file size.
